Kaunergrat Nature Park
An ideal starting point to explore the Kaunergrat Nature Park is Ried im Oberinntal. From the community, you head into untouched nature. The nature park is home to 1,100 species of butterflies. You might even see an ibex in the wild. In the park, let your gaze wander over 87 peaks over 3,000 meters and the 47 alpine pastures. A popular themed trail is the Glacier Educational Trail, which provides information about the habitat on the Gepatschferner. The Pillermoor is also an interesting excursion destination.

Fendels Mountain Railway
With the Ried-Fendels mountain railway, you can take the gondola directly from the Ried bathing lake to Fendels or vice versa. This is the perfect connection for a completely relaxed day at the lake with the whole family or plenty of hiking fun. The Sattelbodenbahn is another mountain railway in Fendels. As a chairlift, it connects the village center with the Sattelboden mountain station. In summer, you will find a varied family mountain with play opportunities, a water paradise, and a hiking trail designed as a treasure hunt with guaranteed fun for kids.

Rieder bathing lake
Surrounded by the mountains of the Tyrolean Alps, the 7,000 m² Rieder bathing lake is a natural attraction of Ried. In addition to swimming, you can try the wide wave water slide, the water swing, or the action tower during the warm season. Bibi's water playground makes children's hearts beat faster. A stand-up paddle and pedal boat rental also provides action on the cool water. During the bathing season, the lake restaurant serves bathers with Tyrolean specialties. In the cold season, the Rieder bathing lake is a popular destination for families for winter hikes and walks.

Area 47
Welcome to AREA 47, the ultimate playground for adventure seekers in Austria. At the entrance to the wild and romantic Ötztal, 9.5 hectares await outdoor and adventure junkies ready to dare the extraordinary and push their limits – adrenaline rushes guaranteed. Parish Church Ried
The Roman Catholic parish church is also known as the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Its construction dates back to the mid-15th century. Parts of the Gothic architecture are preserved to this day. The nave is a Baroque reconstruction. Art and architecture enthusiasts will be delighted by the opulent interior design with its stucco-adorned vault. A masterpiece are the ceiling paintings by the Austrian painter and restorer Josef Gold from the late 19th century. Some late Gothic frescoes are also still visible.

Ski resort Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
With more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area is one of the friendliest winter sports regions in Tyrol. The ski season lasts until April. In the ski area at the foot of the Samnaun Group, snow reliability is guaranteed due to the altitude. Adventurers can explore the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area on a total of twelve freeride routes. 30 kilometers of trails delight cross-country skiers. For the youngest vacationers, there is loving care in the Murmlikrippe. The Kinderschneealm Serfaus is a popular meeting point for families.

Fast descents in the Fendels ski area
Only 0.7 km from Ried im Oberinntal, you can race down a total of 8.5 km of slopes in the Fendels ski area. Six lifts provide transport up to an altitude of 2,271 m. The forest descents are particularly appealing. There is a ski school for children and beginners. Other offerings: tobogganing, snowshoeing, ice skating.
Water fun at Lake Ried
In summer, the outdoor pool at Lake Ried promises enjoyable hours in clear water. The water slides delight young swimmers as well as the adjacent playground. Rent a pedal boat for a ride on the lake. Stand-up paddleboarding enthusiasts will also get their money's worth. In winter, the lakeshore invites you to take a walk.
Hike to Bichler Waterfall
After about 33 km of driving, you reach the Bichlbach or Bichler Waterfall from Ried. On the beautiful circular hiking trail "Bichler Waterfall," you discover the Pitztal mountain world and the natural spectacle that is also easily accessible for people in wheelchairs. You have a nice view of the hidden second waterfall from the viewing platform above.
Impressive Sigmundsried Castle in Ride
From the medieval tower in Ried, the imposing structure developed over the centuries, which temporarily served as a hunting lodge and court seat. Today, it is the seat of the SigmundsRied Cultural Association, which brings cultural life into the venerable building. Inside, you will discover a magnificent groin vault, whose panels are adorned with floral and heraldic paintings.

Day 1
Your first day in the heart of the Tyrolean Oberland begins with a relaxing walk through the original village center of Ried im Oberinntal. Along the banks of the Inn, you enjoy the picturesque landscape. After a hearty Austrian snack, you visit Sigmundsried Castle. The castle from the 13th and 14th centuries was once home to the noble family of Ried. In the summer months, there are guided tours on weekends that take you into the exciting history. If the gates are closed, a detour to the Ried-Frauns Sheep Wool Factory Museum is worthwhile. In the traditional facility, you can see how various products are made from the wool of Tyrolean mountain sheep using old, water-powered machines. In the adjoining shop, you can purchase Frauns knitting wool, fleeces, and wool decorations as a souvenir for your vacation. With a view of the wonderful mountain panorama of the Alps, you let the day end relaxed.
Day 2
After an extensive breakfast, you can relaxingly take the cable car to the Fendels summer mountain for a family adventure. A second stage with the Sattelbodenbahn takes you up to an altitude of 1,874 meters. Once at the top, mountain carting provides action and adventure. You race down the mountain at high speed. Trail bike fans, on the other hand, head down the Wildbachtrail into the valley. A highlight along the way is crossing the 30-meter-long suspension bridge. In winter, the mountain transforms into a family ski area. After another ascent, the Sattelklause mountain restaurant provides refreshments. While the parents enjoy an espresso, the little ones have fun right next door on the playground. After the last descent into the valley, the Rieder bathing lake invites you for a cool down. Children go on a discovery tour at the lake with the mascot Bibi. Eight water stations provide splashing fun. You can taste small and large specialties in the adjoining lake restaurant.
Day 3
One last time hiking, skiing, or biking is on the agenda for the third day. Today, it goes from Ried im Oberinntal to the holiday region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. At an altitude of 1,200 to 1,300 meters, over 500 kilometers of hiking trails of all difficulty levels spread out. A lovely family hike leads to the Woderturm in Neuegg. From there, you can look far into the Alps. The varied path leads through shady forests, past a mountain stream with water play areas, and to healing springs and sulfur springs. Along the way, a barbecue area in the forest with a playground invites you to take a break. The crowning conclusion of the excursion to the mountain region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is the rapid descent with the family coaster Schneisenfeger in Serfaus. Summer or winter, it goes 1.5 kilometers down to the Hög adventure park. If there is still time before departure, both young and old explorers can discover the alpine and forestry industry in a playful way in the adventure park.
