Kappl - Must-see attractions
Diasbahn
The cable car takes you from the valley station in Kappl to a height of around 1,830 meters above the holiday resort in just a few minutes with a view. Numerous hiking trails for every level of athletic ambition are waiting to be explored by you. The surroundings are also perfect for mountain biking, and you can conveniently take your MTB with you on the Diasbahn. A tip for families is the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park, which is just a stone's throw from the mountain station.
Sunny Mountain Adventure Park
Even the cable car ride up to the summit is an experience for the little ones. Once at the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park, a large playground awaits kids with plenty of fun. Other highlights include a disc golf course and a cute petting zoo. The adventure park is the starting point for a variety of hiking tours with children. But the low ropes course is also a real experience for young and old. Those who prefer a more relaxed pace can refresh themselves in the Kneipp facility or visit the alpine museum with its historical charm.
Parish Church of St. Anthony
The parish church Kappl is dedicated to the monk and ascetic Anthony the Great. The origins of the Roman Catholic house of worship date back to the mid-14th century, but it was rebuilt in the early 18th century. Only the tower is preserved in its original state. The baroque design of the hall church with lavish golden splendor will fascinate art history enthusiasts. Notable are the magnificent wall paintings and ceiling frescoes, as well as the baroque altar. The delicate carved figures are the work of the Austrian baroque sculptor Andreas Kölle.
Silvapark Galtür ski area
In the Silvapark Galtür ski area, you have a snow guarantee. After all, it is the highest ski area in the Paznaun. From December to April, 43 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes are available, ranging from beginner runs to black slopes. Embark on an adventurous ski safari and discover the most beautiful spots around Galtür. Part of the route is covered on skis, part with snow groomers. Cross-country skiers can look forward to 50 kilometers of varied trails.
Paznauner High Trail
True mountaineers take on a challenge on the Paznaun High Trail. The route covers over 120 km and is divided into nine stages. The start and finish are located in the idyllic community of See, the smallest place in the Paznaun. The Paznaun High Trail leads you through untouched nature over lush alpine meadows and through wild and romantic larch forests. You pass clear lakes where the peaks are reflected. Along the route, there are accommodation options in five huts and four mountain villages.
Lake Zeinisjoch
The mountain lake Zeinisjoch is located at an altitude of 1,812 meters. The pass road of the same name leads over switchbacks along the picturesque mountain landscape and is an experience in itself. Once at the top, a breathtaking panorama of the mountains opens up. The turquoise water of the approximately 2.5-hectare lake is surrounded by untouched nature, inviting you to hike, picnic, and linger. Numerous hiking trails run along the lake. In addition, you can engage in water sports activities such as fishing or stand-up paddling.

Church of St. Anthony in Kappl
In the North Tyrolean family holiday region of Paznaun Valley, the St. Anthony's Church in the holiday resort of Kappl, located at around 1,300 meters high, is enticing. Its towering church tower can be seen from afar. The chapel, first mentioned in the 14th century and newly built until 1727, impresses with splendidly gilded altars and an artistic ceiling painting from the 18th century.
Visit the Visnitz waterfall near Kappl
Just a good kilometer from the town center, you will discover this tranquil waterfall at a tributary of the Trisanna. It cascades from a height of 30 meters into the Visnitzbach. The upper section of the well-marked path is secured. At the end, it is worth lingering on the bench with a view of the foaming water.

On your own or with expert guidance, the Paznaun Bee Educational Trail in Kappl delights both young and old. From the parking lot of the Diasbahnen, you take the forest path to the bee house with beehives, honeycombs, and plenty of information. Depending on your thirst for knowledge, the 1 km long path takes about 30 to 90 minutes.

Day 1
Your getaway in Kappl takes you to the Tyrolean Paznaun Valley. Start the first day of your vacation with a small exploration tour through Kappl. Among the most beautiful buildings in the area is the Parish Church of Kappl, which you can recognize from afar by its towering red tower. It captivates culture enthusiasts inside with its magnificent Baroque-style furnishings. Kappl is located directly on the Trisanna River. Those who cross it from the town center do not have far to go to the Visnitz Waterfall. This waterfall romantically cascades over rugged rocks amidst a dense forest landscape. If you wish, you can take a short hiking walk to this natural spectacle, just 1.5 km from the town center, on the first day. However, a slightly larger round tour of about 6 km through the town and forest to the waterfall is also an appealing start for a hiking vacation around Kappl with the whole family.
Day 2
On the second day in Kappl, you go high up - on foot or by cable car to the Dias-Alpe at over 1,800 meters altitude. On this local mountain of Kappl, the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park stretches out with many summer attractions for kids. A highlight is the cute petting zoo, while the sporty ones can try the low ropes course. Of course, there is also a large children's playground and other attractions like an alpine herb garden and a fun disc golf course. The Kneipp facility offers refreshment, and those who wish can start relaxing hiking tours with the family from the Dias-Alpe. In the winter months, the Dias-Alpe is a popular starting point for all ski and snowboard fans. Over 30 kilometers of slopes await to be explored with the whole family on mostly easy and intermediate runs. A winter highlight is also the 6 km long natural toboggan run in Kappl, which provides plenty of winter fun for young and old.
Day 3
On the third day of vacation, action is on the agenda. The alpine mountain world is perfect for adventurous tours on a mountain bike. From sporty crossroad biking to leisurely tours in the valley region to family-friendly routes, there is something for everyone. In and around Kappl, there are almost 200 kilometers of marked trails for mountain bike fans. For example, slightly more experienced bikers can take on adventurous switchbacks for about 7 km, always uphill to the summit of Mittagskopf. There, sporty cyclists can enjoy a fantastic alpine panorama and a cool drink at the Visnitzalpe before the return trip. Rafting also guarantees adrenaline-filled fun. Relaxed river passages alternate with some challenges along the way. Inexperienced rafters conquer the whitewater passages and rapids of the smaller and larger rivers in Kappl and the surrounding area with an experienced guide. This way, the adventure becomes an experience for the whole family.
