Tips for proper ventilation and heating

When it comes to properly ventilating and heating your rooms, here are some important points to consider:

  1. Carry out shock ventilation. Ventilate several times a day with the window wide open, preferably through opposite windows ("draught"). Ventilate for 20-30 minutes in summer and 5-10 minutes in winter with the heating turned down.
  2. Ventilate in case of water condensation. Always ventilate when water vapour is generated, e.g. when cooking, showering and drying laundry.
  3. Heat sufficiently. Heat all rooms sufficiently, maintain a constant temperature of at least 17 degrees Celsius (corridors: 15 degrees Celsius) and close the doors to rooms that are heated less.
  4. Turn off the radiators. When windows are open or the heating is not needed, you should switch off the radiators.
  5. Switch between day and night. It is best to reduce the heating only at night and leave the radiators at a constant temperature during the day.
  6. Keep blinds/shutters closed at night in winter. Close the blinds or shutters in your entire living area at nightfall.
