La Tzoumaz ski area
The ski area of La Tzoumaz extends over a large area and offers slopes for beginners to professionals. With modern lift systems, you can comfortably reach the peaks and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Popular, not only with children, is the fast ride on one of the toboggan runs. Cross-country skiers also find optimal conditions in La Tzoumaz on well-groomed trails through the snowy surroundings. Additionally, you can go snowshoeing, ice climbing, and ice skating.
Les Collons ski resort
The Les Collons Ski Resort is integrated into the larger 4 Vallées ski area and connected with Verbier, la Tzoumaz, Nendaz, and Veysonnaz. From Les Collons, there is a breathtaking view over the Dent Blanche and the Val d’Hérémence. Les Collons extends over three levels. From the lowest level, you can reach the mountains with the La Trabanta chairlift. The highest level serves as a starting point for hikes, and the La Matze and Theytaz 2 ski lifts also start here.
Tracouet-See
The Lac de Tracouet belongs to the Valais municipality of Nendaz. In summer, the Dent de Nendaz is reflected on the calm surface of the mountain lake. The lake is fascinating mainly because of its diversity of amphibians, which include grass frogs and alpine newts. Numerous hiking trails run around the Lac de Tracouet, through which you can reach the majestic Dent de Nendaz or the larch forest near Balavaux. The tree stands near Balavaux are among the oldest in all of Europe.
Saxon Bisse
The Bisse de Saxon was built between 1865 and 1876. It passes through the village of La Tzoumaz and leads through wonderfully quiet and dense spruce forests. In the middle of the forest, you will encounter the alpine hut Cabane du Bourlâ. The route takes you further to the mysterious scree field of Dzerjonna and the clearing Pra da Dzeu, from where you can admire the Bernese Alps. Here, you turn off from the Bisse de Saxon and hike down to Siviez.
Grande Dixence Dam
The Grande Dixence Dam is located in the Swiss Val d'Hérémence and dams the Dixence River to generate renewable energy. The turquoise water of the dammed water forms a breathtaking backdrop against the majestic mountain landscape. On site, you can learn more about the history and operation of the impressive dam with a height of 285 meters. In the surrounding area, you can hike on well-marked trails through alpine meadows past snow-covered peaks of the Swiss Alps.
La Tzoumaz Swimming Pool
The indoor swimming pool of La Tzoumaz is located in the center of the village in the same building that also houses the ski lifts. This allows you to relax immediately after a long day on the slopes. The indoor pool also includes a sauna. In the summer, you can stay in the outdoor area of the indoor pool and enjoy the sun. La Tzoumaz offers numerous hiking and cycling routes that lead through the dense forests of the Valais Alps. Culinary highlights await you in the Maison de la Forêt.

The House of the Forest
The Maison de la forêt ("House of the Forest") is located above the Valais winter sports resort of La Tzoumaz on the route to the Croix-de-Coeur mountain pass. The rustic wooden house in the middle of the forest serves as a meeting point: On the upper floor, a permanent exhibition deals with the animals of the region, and on the ground floor, a restaurant welcomes you.
The Bear's Pool
Near La Tzoumaz in the Valais Alps lies La Gouille à l'Ours, a 1,589-meter-high elevation on the edge of the slopes of the 4 Vallées ski area. A trip to the "Bear Pond" is worthwhile because of the rustic chalets in typical Swiss style. From the valley station of the cable car, you can reach the viewpoint in a 20-minute walk.
Path of the Senses at La Tzoumaz
The Sentier des Sens is a 5.5 km long hiking route that runs through the Valais mountain village of La Tzoumaz. The starting point is the Maison de la forêt, a combination of museum, restaurant, and meeting place in the middle of the forest. On the hike, you will get to know nature from a new perspective.
Pierre Avoi
At an altitude of 2,473 m, the viewpoint summit Pierre Avoi in the Valais Alps offers magnificent panoramas over the Rhone Valley and the Grand Combin. From La Tzoumaz, you reach the Savoleyres mountain station, from which a hiking trail leads to Pierre Avoi. The last 50 m are via stairs and ladders.

Day 1
The name of the small mountain village traces back to a dialect in the canton of Valais and means something like "rest." Today, in La Tzoumaz, you can both relax and try adventurous sports – in both summer and winter, as La Tzoumaz is part of the largest ski area in Switzerland. On your first day, get an overview of the picturesque landscape: after a short drive or a cable car ride, the summit of Mont Fort awaits you. Here, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the impressive 360-degree view of the Valais Alps. In the afternoon, experience nature up close on one of the mountain bike trails around La Tzoumaz. This region is known for its well-marked and diverse trails, suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. If you don't have your own mountain bike, you can rent one on site.
Day 2
The second day of your trip in La Tzoumaz begins with an excursion to the impressive Bisse du Saxon. This historic waterway, built in the 18th century and no longer in use, stretches along the mountain slopes and offers spectacular views of the region. Enjoy the tranquility of nature as you stroll along the hiking trail. In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to awaken your adrenaline by visiting the rope park Parcours Aventure. Here you can demonstrate your skill and sense of adventure as you tackle the various climbing routes and zip lines in the treetops. A great opportunity to experience Swiss nature from a whole new perspective. In the evening, you can enjoy Swiss cuisine in one of the local restaurants. Be sure to try the cheese fondue as a Swiss classic and end the day with a glass of wine.
Day 3
To conclude your short trip, take one last stroll through La Tzoumaz and seize the opportunity for beautiful photos in front of the cozy chalets. Afterwards, take an excursion to the nearby Les Bains de Saillon, a wellness paradise in the midst of the Alps. Here, you can relax in the warm thermal springs and enjoy the healing properties of the water. The spa also offers various saunas and steam baths. In the afternoon, you should visit the charming village of Verbier, which is just a short drive from La Tzoumaz. Verbier is famous for its ski resort, but there is much to experience here in the summer as well, from leisurely walks in the mountains to exquisite restaurants and shops. Stroll through the picturesque alleys and enjoy the inviting atmosphere. Before heading home, you can take one last look at the picturesque Alpine scenery from the ruins of Tourbillon Castle.
