During a stroll, you always have the towering backdrop of the Lugano Prealps in view. Among the most beautiful buildings in the area is the Church of San Lorenzo from the 17th/18th century. The baroque-style front facade especially delights architecture fans. Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely bike ride along the Maggia River, which flows past Losone. The second day starts on the water. The ferry connections across Lake Maggiore are ideal for excursions to charming destinations in and on the water. In the neighboring lakeside town of Ascona, the ferry departs for the Isole di Brissago. The small group of islands off the northeastern shore is known for its botanical garden. Discover lushly blooming plants from around the world such as magnolias, camellias, azaleas, and eucalyptus, and of course, various Mediterranean plants from gnarled pines to fragrant rosemary.
