Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Puerto de la Cruz
Playa Jardín is probably the most famous landmark of the coastal city Puerto de la Cruz. The black sand is of volcanic origin and creates an almost surreal sight when it meets the turquoise blue water of the Atlantic. Here you can go swimming at any time of the year, and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy windsurfing. Highlights of Puerto de la Cruz include the expansive Loro Parque, home to numerous exotic plant species and exciting animal attractions. Garachico
Garachico is located in the northwest of Tenerife and enchants with its well-preserved historical townscape. Directly below the Castillo de San Miguel are swimming pools formed from solidified lava masses, which are now used as natural seawater pools. La Orotava
La Orotava in the eponymous valley on the northwest coast of Tenerife is a significant cultural center of the island. Former monastery churches and proud townhouses from the 17th century shape the impressive image of the lower and upper town. The distinctive main church Nuestra Señora de la Concepción shines with rich interior decoration and artistic altars. The imposing town hall from the 18th century also attracts admiring glances. During Christmas time, a nativity scene with life-sized figures in front of its portal attracts locals and holiday guests. Stroll through the beautifully designed Victoria Garden park with a marble mausoleum and lush plant splendor. On Corpus Christi, colorful flower carpets adorn the 500-meter-long procession path.
Masca
Despite its manageable size, the municipality is one of the top excursion destinations on the Canary Island belonging to Spain. After a winding drive, visitors are greeted by picturesque hillside houses and a breathtaking view of the surrounding gorge landscape. In the village, there are craft shops, a museum, as well as bars and restaurants. One of the most popular hiking trails on the island leads through the Masca Gorge down to the Atlantic. Good physical condition and suitable footwear are required here. The hike passes by typical Mediterranean plants and steep rock walls. Upon reaching the sea, you have the option to take a boat back to Los Gigantes.
San Cristobal de La Laguna
San Cristobal de La Laguna is home to a variety of historic buildings and churches that you can visit on art-historical routes. Buenavista del Norte
In the charming town center of the community, which was founded in the 16th century, the Iglesia Nuestra Senora de Los Remedios is one of the most prominent landmarks. From there, it is only a few minutes' walk to the Atlantic coast, characterized by rugged cliffs and rocks. In between, you will find some secluded bathing coves. Los Gigantes

Tenerife - Climate
Tenerife is a great travel destination all year round. Generally, the north is somewhat cooler and wetter than the south. The weather differences are caused by the trade wind. In summer, the desert wind from the Sahara drives temperatures up to over 30°C during the day. At night, it cools down to around 22°C. Between March and October, the sun shines from the sky for eight to eleven hours. From December to February, temperatures are still around 20°C. The water of the Atlantic is warmest from August to October, with an average of 22 to 23°C.
