Preikestolen

The tour starts and ends at the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge at the foot of the plateau. The rock edge of Preikestolen impresses with its distinctive shape, which drops vertically into the fjord. The feeling of standing high up on the plateau and letting your gaze wander far over the Lysefjord is unique. This quite challenging hiking tour is recommended for hikers experienced in rough terrain.

Trolltunga

The Trolltunga juts out about 10 meters horizontally over the lake. In total, you must overcome around 1,450 meters of elevation on the challenging hiking tour to this extraordinary spot. The start and end point is Skjeggedal. From there, it goes through a rugged high mountain region with partially rocky surfaces and numerous stone steps. The hike to Trolltunga measures 28 kilometers in length with an identical round trip. Experienced hikers complete this route as a demanding day hike in about 9 to 10 hours of walking time. It is recommended to undertake this tour in the Norwegian summer with its very long and bright days.

Besseggen mountain

Hike on the Besseggen Ridge

For the tour on the Besseggen ridge, you should bring some fitness. The path is characterized by curves and is also quite steep. You start in Memurubu at 1,008 m. You can park the car at the boat dock to Gjendesheim. The ascent is via the Bjørnbøltjønne. From the Besseggen ridge, you enjoy a magnificent view over Lake Gjende and the surrounding mountains. From here, you continue to Veslfjellet, the highest point of the hike at 1,743 m. Finally, you descend to Gjendesheim. For the return to the starting point, a boat trip is recommended.

Lofoten Reinebringen

Reinebringen summit hike

A challenging hike awaits you on the Reinebringen summit hike. The tour is only for those sure-footed and free from vertigo, and you will be rewarded with spectacular views when climbing the Reinebringen. Over a distance of 3.2 kilometers, you will hike about 460 meters in elevation, both over stone steps and on partly unsecured paths. The mountain tour starts at the parking lot directly at the junction of the European Route 10 (E10) to Reine. Follow the road southwards towards Moskenes and Å until you reach the path on the right side that leads up the mountain. This begins a special Norwegian adventure, for which you should plan three hours if you are in good condition.

Sørvågen village

Hiking on the Tindstinden

The classic hiking tour to Tindstinden begins in the small village of Sørvågen. From there, it goes along the rugged rocky landscape on narrow paths up to the summit, where you overcome an elevation difference of about 450 meters. The scenic route can be hiked well mainly in the summer months. The hiking distance to Tindstinden and back on the same path is a total of about 5.5 kilometers. Despite its short length, it is a challenging route, with steep ascents requiring surefootedness and a head for heights. In early summer, you may even encounter snow at the summit.

Segla mountain

Climb the Segla, which is considered by many to be the most beautiful mountain on the island of Senja. It is located in almost untouched nature. The best starting point is the tranquil village of Fjordgård. You steadily climb uphill with the summit in sight. Since the path is rocky, good footwear pays off. The hike up the Segla is a good workout: on the relatively short 2-kilometer route, you overcome 590 meters in altitude. For the partly steep ascent, you are rewarded with a magnificent view over the Mefjord and the surrounding mountain landscape. The return path follows the same route.

Hesten

Although the summit route to Hesten is only 3.9 km long, you should plan more than two hours for the hike. The paths are mostly paved, but very steep in many areas. You will cover a total of 461 meters in altitude during the hikes, so you should pay attention to good footwear. During your hike through the mountains of Norway, you will be repeatedly rewarded with breathtaking views over the fjords. The rock walls rise prominently into the sky and offer a unique sight. In some places, you have the opportunity for bird watching. In general, the summer months are recommended as the travel time.

Tromsø

The southern tip of Tromso, also known as Sydspissen, is the starting point for one of the most challenging hiking routes in the region. You cover 17.5 km and hike through numerous different environments. You reach Sydspissen by public transport and then follow the east coast to the bridge to Tromsdalen. There, the ascent to the Svarthammarn Caves begins. For this, you need very good fitness and suitable footwear. Afterwards, you will be rewarded for your efforts and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over Tromso after the alpine march. The sunny summer months are especially recommended as a travel time.
