14 March 2024: Interhome Croatia team steps up! 

The desperate situation of 100 dogs in need prompted the employees of Interhome Croatia to act by purchasing 300 kilograms of high-quality food to ensure proper nutrition for the dogs and help them recover from some serious conditions. 

We first found out about the terrible situation these dogs were in through the media. The heartbreaking news of these 100 furry souls deeply moved us.

Understanding that the animal welfare organization “Društvo za zaštitu životinja Rijeka” functions through the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donations, we felt compelled to help. The pet store “HOP” shared our compassion and was willing to offer a discount for the rescue dogs. This enabled us to purchase 300 kilograms of high-quality food for these much-deserving animals. 

We understand the importance of proper nutrition, especially for dogs in such poor condition. Many of them were found eating plastic, while others suffered from worm infestations. This food supply will sustain them for 2.5 to 3 weeks, providing them with the nourishment and care they need to recover.

20th-21st June 2023: Interhome Group Volunteers help out at Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà in Spain

During our volunteering activities, we took on meaningful projects to support the park's facilities. We constructed a shelter with tables and benches, designed to accommodate children's programs, and we also painted the tables to ensure their durability in the park's environment. Additionally, we dedicated our efforts to clearing a 2-kilometre hiking and biking trail, removing weeds, non-native plants, and thorny branches that obstructed the path. These tasks allowed us to actively contribute to the park's maintenance and conservation efforts. Alongside our volunteer work, we had the opportunity to participate in an informative park tour, which deepened our understanding of its ecological significance.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the park's skilled staff members, namely Glòria, Sònia, and Aleix, whose invaluable support and collaboration played an integral role in our volunteering endeavor. Our commitment to environmental conservation and protection remains unwavering, and we eagerly anticipate returning to the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà in the future, as well as exploring other exceptional parks.
