Travel Guide San Benedetto del Tronto
Further information on the country Italy
Climate
San Benedetto del Tronto, on the Adriatic coast between Ancona and Pescara (easily reached by motorway, or by rail and plane), is not a typical Adriatic bathing resort but a "Riviera of Palm Trees". The luxuriant, exotic vegetation and the abundant palm trees give the countryside a tropical air. It is fascinating to observe that the locals still live in the same way as fishermen years ago and keep up the old traditions. 10 km long, gently sloping sandy beach (ideal for children), lovely beach promenade with palm trees and numerous beach facilities, varied selection of leisure activities such as nautic club, dance halls, tennis club, tennis school, swimming pool, minigolf, numerous pubs and restaurants, picturesque markets and lots of shops.
