Climate
Small city, 13 km east from Bad Driburg, 24 km west from Höxter, 26 km south from Detmold. In the resort: supermarket, shops, grocers, restaurant, museum, attractions. Indoor pool, wellness centre, sauna, sun bed. Access: railway station "Steinheim" 8 km. Bus service. For arrivals by plane: airport Hannover (HAJ) 100 km, Paderborn (PAD) 35 km. Nieheim is a former agricultural town with over 750 years history. This healing climatic spa town is situated in charming hilly countryside within the nature reserve of the Egge mountains/southern Teutoburger forest. The "Westphalen Culinarium" is unique, where 4 adventure museums are located next-door to each other along one of the streets in the Old Town, each of which is dedicated to the Westphalian specialities cheese, bread, ham or beer and schnaps respectively. Also worth a visit is the reconstructed telegraph station. Also of interest are excursions to the popular spa towns of Bad Lippspringe and Bad Pyrmont.
