Access: railway station in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Zürich (ZRH), Basel (BSL), Genève-Cointrin (GVA). The international music festival (Internationale Musikfestwochen), the "Seenachtsfest" (lake by night festival) and the folkloric "Fasnacht" (local carnival) are some of the better-known spectacles in the town. Worth seeing: Kappelbruecke (bridge), cultural and congress centre (KKL), lion monument (Loewendenkmal), glacier garden (Gletschergarten), transport house (Verkehrshaus), Richard Wagner and Picasso museum. Lucerne is starting point for excursions to Pilatus, Rigi, Titlis and to the Stanserhorn.
